Position Overview
NON SEASONAL APPLICANTS ONLY - great part time work (~9-12 hrs per week available year round). As a swim instructor you are responsible for the safety of each class and teaching swim skills to students using our curriculum. You will work to build water confidence within your students, encouraging each student to rise to the best of their abilities. You can expect to be regularly communicating with students and fellow staff members.

Responsibilities:
- Make sure everyone is safe.
- Love and respect students while teaching them to swim.
- Be a team player who is who is consistently dependable and reliable.
- Complete required training and be a continual learner.
- Follow our curriculum with a focus on the needs, abilities and comfort of each student.
- Smile and have fun during your entire shift.
Qualifications:
- Caring and compassion for children and adults
- Ability to work in the water for periods of up to 4 hours
- Strong communication skills
- Great attitude and willingness to be coached
- The ability to focus in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to commit to at least 6 months of employment, weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings

In addition to teaching basic survival skills and technical instruction on the strokes, LSA is proud to focus on developing breath control, buoyancy and learning how to maximize propulsion in the most energy efficient manner.

Legacy Swim Academy’s philosophy strives to help swimmers of all ages and levels become more confident in their abilities and encourage various aquatic activities to promote a healthy lifestyle.
We cater to each client’s genuine interests, whether it be basic fitness, diving in the deep end, working on water polo basics, fine tuning racing speed, practical training for open water and/or ocean swimming, or mastering the art of the cannon ball.
